Good morning from Buenos Aires. Today’s Wednesday. And on Wednesdays, we ask questions. Today’s questions are inspired by something that I stumbled upon. on LinkedIn. the guy’s name is Sahil Bloom, S A H I L Bloom. And I don’t know much about him, but his content is excellent.
he did a post about doing a year end review. And while right now is probably not the moment because we’re all caught up in the holiday season and closing out our work so we have time for family and friends. I did think a few of these questions were worth sharing because I’m sure you, like me, at some point during the holidays will find that time to maybe clean up some of your admin plan for the new year and reflect upon the year
a lot of the stuff that’s coming at us in social media is about the new year. And I like this idea of taking a moment to reflect on 2023. so I’m going to share a few of his questions in case you want to do that. I think there are four. The first question is what did I change my mind on this year? The second one is what created energy in my life this year? What activities, people, and projects consistently created energy?
You can also look at the flip side of that and ask the exact same thing about what depleted your energy. The third question is who were the boat anchors in my life? And that is actually about who held you back from your potential in some way, verbally, emotionally. Like who is that person or those people who somehow seem to hold you back? The next question is. What were my greatest hits and misses this year? And the last question, which I really think is important. What did I not do because of fear? So let me quickly repeat them. What did I change my mind on this year?
, What created energy in my life, you can classify them. What activities, people, and projects consistently created energy or depleted my energy this year? Who were the boat anchors in my life? Meaning who do I feel held me back in some way? What were my greatest hits and misses? And lastly, what did I not do because of fear. So I’ll end by saying, yeah, I think the temptation is always to look forward. , and speaking for myself, I am always a person that is forward looking, but I do think this exercise is important and it can inform how I think about next year.
I think this is excellent fodder for Those of you who want to participate in the first rocket fuel group call in January, and that’s about designing a life you love and getting clear and being very intentional about being in the driver’s seat, being the architect of your own life.
I’ll leave you with that for today. Until next time, from my heart to yours,
