Good morning from Martha’s Vineyard. Today’s episode is going to be very short and sweet because I’m going to steal like an artist and share something that came across an Instagram reel that I really liked. It also happens to tie in beautifully with an earlier episode I did this week called ‘Mourning Expectations’. In that episode I’m talking about when things don’t work out as we expected and we fall into focusing on the negative.
This attention-grabbing headline was called the five most important toxins to avoid in your life, and I immediately thought it was going to be about food, pesticides, and harmful fats or something like that, but no here they are: the five most important toxins to avoid. Number one, complaining. Number two, criticizing number three being negative. Number four, making excuses and number five, gossiping. Wow. Things we all do, and some we’re better at avoiding than others.
The first thing that popped into my mind this morning is that I’ve been complaining about something, and I want to stop it. I think the reason I’m sharing it is because it really all comes down to catching ourselves, right? So, the challenge to you and to myself is how quickly can you catch yourself in the act of complaining, criticizing, being negative, making excuses and gossiping. Catch yourself and choose to stop.
That’s the challenge. I’m going to leave you with that thought and my wishes for a wonderful, wonderful weekend. That’s all for now, from my heart to yours.
